Kyboa has expanded its registry-enhanced KYB support with new lite registry sources for Hong Kong, Japan, Taiwan, Myanmar, Laos and Labuan.
These new sources are designed to support practical company screening and entity creation workflows. They are not premium registry lookups, do not use Premium Registry Credits, and are included with every Kyboa subscription where enabled for the account.
What has been added
The new lite registry support allows Kyboa to use available public or directory-style company information as part of the existing company screening and maintained entity workflow.
This means users can search supported sources, select a company, create a registry-enhanced company screening, or create a maintained entity record populated from the available company information.
Supported lite registry sources
Hong Kong
Hong Kong support uses available Companies Registry open data to help confirm company identity details such as company name, registration or business number where available, company type, address and incorporation-related information.
Japan
Japan support uses corporate-number style registry information to help confirm the company record, including corporate number, company name, address and available status or registration context.
Taiwan
Taiwan support uses available MOEA company data. Taiwan has a special search limitation: company-name search is based on Chinese-language names, while numeric Business Accounting Number input is also supported through the registry search flow. English company-name search is not currently supported for Taiwan.
Where Taiwan director information is available, Kyboa uses a conservative mapping approach. Only explicit director-class roles are brought into the shared director screening workflow, and representative or juristic-person context is preserved as context rather than over-interpreted as personal ownership.
Myanmar
Myanmar support uses available company registry information from the public MyCO/DICA source to help confirm company identity and basic company information where returned by the registry.
Laos
Laos support uses available enterprise registry information to help confirm company identity, local registration context, address details, business activity information and tax-related details where returned by the source.
Labuan
Labuan support is based on the Labuan FSA Financial Institutions Directory. It is treated as a distinct lite registry source while preserving Malaysia as the underlying canonical jurisdiction in Kyboa records.
Labuan directory records may not always expose a public company registration number. In those cases, Kyboa can still use the selected directory record for screening and entity workflows without treating internal lookup handles as public registration numbers.
Included with every subscription
These are lite registry sources. They are included with normal plan functionality and do not consume Premium Registry Credits.
This is different from premium registry support, where provider costs require separate registry credits. Lite registry sources are intended to improve the KYB workflow where useful public or directory information is available, without creating additional per-lookup charges for subscribers.
How this helps company screening and entity creation
For supported jurisdictions, users can use registry search as part of company screening or maintained entity creation. Depending on the source, Kyboa may be able to populate company identity details, local-language names, registration details, address information, business activity information, directors, or other available context.
The exact depth varies by jurisdiction. Some sources provide only basic company identity information, while others provide directors or additional local context. Kyboa presents the available information as KYB context to support screening, CDD and monitoring workflows.
Safer re-import for existing entities
This update also works alongside the new entity re-import improvements. Existing company entities in these jurisdictions can be refreshed from supported registry sources.
A new fill blanks only option allows registry re-import to add missing information without overwriting populated fields. This is especially useful for older entities that were created manually or before a jurisdiction was enabled for registry-enhanced workflows.
Important limitations
Lite registry support is intended to add useful KYB context, not to replace official registry access or provide standalone registry extracts. Data availability varies by jurisdiction and source.
For jurisdictions with limited public data, users may still need to obtain official documents or additional client-provided information for enhanced due diligence. Kyboa’s role is to help use available information inside a structured screening, CDD and monitoring workflow.
What this means for users
This release broadens Kyboa’s regional KYB support without adding complexity to the subscription model. More companies can now be created and screened with available registry context, and existing maintained entities can be enriched more safely over time.
For teams operating across Southeast and East Asia, this is a practical step toward making company screening more consistent, better documented and easier to maintain.
